The British Embassy in Bangkok is a hive of activity on a daily basis helping foreigners in distress and also issuing visas for foreign Nationals wishing to travel to the UK for many reasons including tourism and settlement mainly for Thai Nationals.
The visa section at the British Embassy
are there to evaluate visa applications and make decisions on each visa application but please note they do this behind closed doors and the visa section is no longer open to the public you should not direct visa inquiries or visa applications to the British Embassy.
The visa section for many years have been using their outsourcing partner called the VFS global located at the Trendy building Bangkok and their role is to deal with the influx of daily UK visa applications. The trained VFS staff obtain all applicants biometric details and also receive the visa application from the applicant.
The visa application is then forwarded to the British Embassy Bangkok for a decision and then sent back to the VFS ready for the applicant to collect the documents and their passport and the verdict.
If you arrive at the British Embassy with a visa inquiry or any documents you will be turned away and told to go to the VFS located at the Trendy Building Bangkok.
The Consular section at the British Embassy
are there to help British Citizen in distress were they can and also to help supply notarized documents on a daily basis for example, income letters for British Nationals and sworn affirmations allowing a UK citizen the freedom to marry.

Entrance to the British Embassy Consular section in Bangkok is now on appointment system so you cannot just walk in anymore you have to go the website below and make an online appointment you will then print the appointment and take it with you to show the Embassy security on the front gate. Without an appointment you will not be allowed entry.

British Passport renewal in Thailand
This service has not been dealt with by the British Embassy in Bangkok for over 6 years this service is now operated by the HMPO which is located at the VFS Global building, which is the same location that UK visa applications are dealt with so the UK passports and the UK visas are both applied for in the same location.
